1 Mother 2 Another

Every summer my church organizes several
fun nights for the women at my church; different people are asked
to “host” an event that they’re interested in. So
one woman might offer a one-night class about how to get the most
out of clipping coupons, while another one might host an ongoing
weekly early-morning walking club.


I was asked to host a night about living green.

Can you see me? I can barely type because
I’m jumping up and down with excitement. It’s no secret
that environmental stewardship is very close to my heart, and to
get the chance to talk with people interested in learning more
about it – color me in heaven. I’ve been waiting all
summer, and finally my green night is here. I’ve got a small,
seven-page handout to go with the evening. I’ve made
name-tags out of old cereal boxes. Whole Foods Market has donated
compostable paper plates for our snacks. I’ve been re-reading
all my favorite books on eating healthily and environmental
stewardship, and I’m revved up and raring to go. I’ve
been talking about it so much I have friends coming that
don’t even go to my church!


Did I mention I’m excited?
