New Year
No one’s been sick –
I’ve just been hugely enjoying some family time over the past
week. Sorry.
But life’s about to kick back into regular gear, and I have
to say I’m not thrilled about it.
Is it really so bad if we keep our kids home and don’t send
them to school? I mean, really? I mean, like, go to jail bad?
Really?
I’ve had a great time having Maddie
home, obviously. And so has Cora, even though the girls have fought
with some regularity. But our routine quickly smoothed back into
pre-kindergarten-era, and starting school again on Tuesday (yes,
she’s off today) is going to hurt. We fought to put the girls
down at their regular bedtime of 6:30, but holiday festivities
shanghaied us and it ended up being more like 7 or 7:30 most
nights. And now they’re regularly sleeping until 8 or 8:30
a.m., which is WAY better than the 6:30 we have to get up at for
school.
Tuesday morning is going to hurt.
And Maddie’s already stressing about school on Tuesday,
begging me to let her stay home, to not make her go. I’m not
ready for this.
Tuesday morning is going to hurt.
