1 Mother 2 Another

I went in for my nightly snuggle with
Maddie last night, and hand to Jesus these are the first three
questions out of her mouth, verbatim:

1. Mommy, why are mermaids pretend and not
real?

2. Who was the first person who made up mermaids in their
imaginations, and why?

3. Mommy, how do you think King Tut died? No one really knows!


I love the mind of a preschooler.


And by the way, unless you want to be cornered in a very long,
largely one-sided conversation, I suggest you don’t ever ask
Maddie how she thinks King Tut died. The answer is complicated, and
involves disobeying his parents and falling off a large
scooter.
